Duration: 2.5 days/ 20 hours
UCG2 or equivalent at instructor discretion. All attendees should have a high level of skill and a reflexive understanding of safety measures.
Maximum of 20 students
In an active threat scenario, you will be forced to fight with what you have on you or around you at the time of the incident. The idea of running to your vehicle and coming back to engage the threat with your AR is unrealistic and potentially dangerous should you be mistaken for a threat by on scene LEO’s.
In this course you will learn how to effectively engage targets at all ranges out to 75-100 yards, with your pistol, building the confidence to engage beyond the 25 yard limitation of most indoor “square box ranges”. We will spend the morning of the first range day polishing up your pistol shooting fundamentals and then spend the remainder of the weekend taking our skills to higher levels. There will also be extensive material presented on the use of more effective empty hand techniques, improvised weapons, as well as some information of escaping and evading threats in a hostile disruptive environment. This is as much a mentally demanding course as it is physical, and builds upon what you have already trained in other pistol and combatives classes. Course material includes an introduction into methods for increasing speed and accuracy.
IWe will also begin to engage targets and perform all manipulations on the move at a much faster pace just short of a run. We will look at the various Threat-Focused Point Shooting and precision sight focused systems and their seamless integration and applications in a total, full range gun-fighting methodology. We will address unconventional engagement positions (including one handed, behind cover, etc.) as well as examine special problems such as confined area shooting, shooting in crowded environments and other difficult problems.
The class will culminate with SIMUNITION Force on Force scenarios taken directly from global headlines pertaining to active shooter and terrorist incidents. Come join us in this exciting and cutting edge training event!
